About this material

If products are supposed to be flexible, we recommend choosing the material TPU. This material is elastic at room temperature, just like rubber. Heating products made of TPU makes them soft and easy to bend or press into another shape. TPU can have a coarser surface than our harder plastics.

TPU deforms at about 80°C, after this temperature limit the material becomes softer. TPU, like PETG, is durable and also resistant to many chemicals, it also has good impact resistance and is electrically insulating. This material can also be used outdoors, it has a good resistance to UV and moisture. TPU is known for cable jackets, garden hoses, phone cases, and so on.

The TPU variant we use has a shore hardness of 55D.

You should take into account that holes and close-fitting parts may therefore be smaller than the original design.

The delivery time per order depends on the selected production speed in the configurator (7, 5 or 3 business days). For large orders of tens, hundreds or thousands of pieces, please contact us.

The delivery time of TPU may be a bit longer than with our hard plastics (PETG and PLA). This is because at TPU we have to produce each design 1 by 1.

TPU has a good resistance to moisture, UV and various chemicals. This material is durable and does not degrade when used outdoors. TPU is therefore suitable for outdoor use.
The flexibility of TPU is comparable to rubber, as the product thickens, the flexibility and elongation of the material decreases.

The difference between our standard and premium product is the layer thickness that is applied when producing the products. A smaller layer thickness makes details more visible and the model can feel smoother.

If you choose the standard option, your product will be FDM 3D printed in layers of 0.2mm. Our standard option is the most chosen option among our customers.

If you choose the premium option, your product FDM 3D will be printed in layers of 0.1mm. By reducing the layer height, the product feels smoother than the standard layer height of 0.2mm.
